What is Mehndi?
Mehndi is a form of body art which the body is adorned with decorative designs using a paste from ground henna leaves.  You may have heard of a "henna tattoo," it's the same thing
How long does the design last?
Once the paste is washed off the skin, the design will have dyed your skin orange. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, the design will gradually darken to a medium brown. Typically, the integrity of the design will last for 7 to 10 days. Remember, henna is permanent, but your skin is not. Our skin is constantly replenishing, so as your dermal layer begins to flake away, the henna will with it.
What is henna made from?
Henna is the dye made from the ground leaves of plant Lawsonia inermis, also known as hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree. We mix our henna paste fresh using 100% natural powdered henna, lemon juice, cane sugar and lavender and tea tree essential oils.
What is "black henna"?
You may have seen pictures of or heard of "black henna." Black henna is henna that has been mixed with p-paraphenylenediamine or PPD. PPD is a toxic chemical that often causes skin irritation. PPD was declared the Contact Allergen of the Year for 2006 by the American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS). Therefore, black henna should really be avoided by everyone, but especially by pregnant women.
Maternal Mehndi only uses 100% natural henna powder, resulting in a brown final dye color on the skin.

How long will my appointment take?
Typically, your entire appointment will take approximately 2 hours.
Can I remove the "tattoo?"
Henna is a permanent dye. If you would like to speed up the process of removing the tattoo, exfoliate your skin regularly.
Can I choose my own design?
Absolutely! Whether you have a specific design or a lose concept in mind, I will gladly create your design using your personal vision.
